Not just a physical space, but an ecosystem of values, well-being, and flexibility.
This vision shapes the contribution of Mery Pillon, Marketing Manager at Martex, featured in the latest podcast by Danilo Premoli for Office Observer, entirely dedicated to the Martex world.
Throughout the conversation, Mery Pillon guides listeners through a reflection on the evolution of workplace design, sharing the approach that inspires Martex collections: placing the individual and their perceptual needs at the heart of the project. A path that integrates functionality, well-being, and sustainability, creating workspaces capable of responding to new ways of experiencing the office.
An authentic dialogue that clearly conveys the Martex philosophy and its commitment to designing work environments that are increasingly human, flexible, and conscious.
Special thanks to Danilo Premoli for sensitively conveying the Martex vision, and to Mery Pillon for her contribution, offering a contemporary and concrete perspective on the present and future of the office.

Hello, I’m Mery Pillon, Marketing Manager at Martex.
Martex designs furniture that shapes the spaces where people live and work.
For us, every project is a way to create relationships and generate well-being, day after day.
We believe that the workplace is not just where results are produced, but where life happens, where we grow, and where we meet others.
And like every lived-in space, the office needs rhythm, movement, and life.
This is where La Piazza® comes from: not just a catalogue, but a way of imagining the contemporary office.
We chose to be inspired by the Italian piazza because it is the beating heart of our cities: an open, inclusive, dynamic space where different moments, functions, and people coexist.
Now, imagine this scene with me.
The piazza opens in the morning: the café starts to fill up, people meet for a coffee, exchange a few words.
In the office, the café becomes the break area — an informal place to recharge, where the most authentic conversations often begin.
Nearby, there are shops: small, intimate, carefully designed spaces.
In the office, these are like private offices, dedicated to concentration, reflection, and calm. Spaces where you enter, close the door, and immerse yourself in your thoughts.
On the benches of the piazza, some people stop to observe, others read or chat.
In the office, these benches become transitional areas — spaces of passage where a quick idea, a spontaneous exchange, or a brief but fertile pause can take place.
At the center of the piazza is the market, full of energy and movement.
Everyone arrives, chooses a spot, works, and then moves on.
It’s the perfect metaphor for flexible workstations — unassigned spaces where work is light, dynamic, and shared. A space shaped by the flow of people, just like a lively market full of voices and encounters.
Then there are the steps of a building or a church, where people often sit for an impromptu chat or a quick outdoor meeting.
In our language, these become informal spaces — places for fast exchanges and decisions made face to face.
Finally, at the center, there is the fountain.
It’s the natural meeting point, where people gather almost without thinking.
In the office, the fountain is the social area, the shared table, the heart of relationships — the place where genuine connections are created.
La Piazza® tells all of this:
an office that is no longer a set of isolated functions, but a living organism that changes, adapts, and breathes with people.
A place where you can stop or pass through, focus or share, work or simply be.
Every piece of furniture, every detail, every material is designed to translate this balance between well-being, relationships, and beauty.
Because for us, beauty is not an addition — it is the natural way an environment can make those who inhabit it feel good.
Telling the story of La Piazza® means telling the story of Italy: our ability to create spaces that bring people together, to unite everyday life and design, aesthetics and humanity.
It is an invitation to rediscover, at work, that same spirit of sharing that has always animated our culture.
And ultimately, every Martex project begins this way:
from a meeting, from a conversation, from a moment when someone simply says, ‘See you in the piazza.’
