“AS WORK BLENDS WITH LIFE, PEOPLE GIVE MORE VALUE TO EXPERIENCE.
BOTH CITIES AND WORK SETTINGS ARE BEING RESHAPED AS A RESULT”
(Dialogue 28, A Gensler Publication)
Martex interpretation of the office evolution, intended as a place of sensory wellness and relationships,
is inspired by the concept of the italian town square: “La Piazza®”;
a space full of diversity and sensory stimuli, which transferred to the work environment
allows a personal interpretation, according to attitudes and needs.
The urban metaphor is the interpretative key that best explains the change we are experiencing, because
the square is a meeting and exchange place, the nucleus of the community,
a complex space in which relationships are grafted and where the main flows of the city meet, a true incubator of relationships
at the center of which are the primordial sources of water (the well, the fountain) and food (coffee, kiosk, terrace, ect..).
All around the square are structured the common spaces, the spaces for rest, relax and work.
As an urban center, furniture support and facilitate the appropriation of space and aggregation, and stimulate us
to develop the office environment around a convivial fulcrum, which foster positive relationships.

In the metaphor that brings the office closer to the city, the reception becomes the City Gate: the threshold that marks the passage between outside and inside, between public space and corporate identity.
Like ancient city gates, it welcomes, guides and protects.
Yet it is not only a function: it is a sign. It introduces, tells a story and defines the character of the place. Here the visitor immediately understands where they are; those who work there rediscover each day a clear and recognizable point of reference.
The City Gate is a transitional space that encourages encounters, organizes flows and naturally accompanies the experience. Materials, light and proportions create
an atmosphere that anticipates what lies beyond.

The town square opens in the morning. The aroma of coffee fills the air, voices intertwine, glances meet: the first energy of the day is born.In the office, the PIAZZA® café becomes the break area, an informal corner where lightness returns, ideas are shared and authentic relationships take shape.
Here people take a break, but also much more: connections between people are renewed, creativity is rekindled, and a sense of community is felt.
Martex solutions for the break area reinterpret this spirit through essential lines, warm materials and welcoming volumes: spaces where conversation flows naturally, where every encounter becomes inspiration.
Because even at work, as in the Italian town square, coffee is not just a break:
it is a gesture of connection.
In Italian town square there are benches that welcome people: places where the rhythm slows down, where one pauses to read, to talk, to breathe.
In the contemporary office, those benches become our transitional areas, fluid spaces of passage and encounter.
Poufs, lockers and soft surfaces alternate to create a domestic landscape, where the pause does not interrupt work, but regenerates it. Here spontaneity is born: an exchange of ideas, a smile, a pause that becomes thought.
They are places of balance between movement and quiet, between concentration and lightness, spaces that invite you to stay a little longer.

In city markets, people arrive, open their stall, do business, and then leave space for others.
A dynamic organization, based on temporary presence and shared use of space. In the same way, some workstations are designed to be used, cleared and reconfigured, following the rhythm of activities.
Flexible spaces that activate when needed and easily transform, adapting to different ways of working throughout the day.
As in public parks, where tables and benches encourage spontaneous gathering, social tables reinterpret the same principle in the office: creating an informal center around which people meet.
They become points of connection, places for pause and exchange, capable of fostering dialogue, collaboration and a sense of belonging.
Not just surfaces to lean on, but true catalysts for relationships.

Like shops give rhythm and identity to the life of the square, the work area is where work takes shape every day.
Between bench workstations, executive desks and sit-to-stand solutions, the space comes alive with activity, energy and movement, supporting a fluid, dynamic and deeply human work experience.
As in Italian town square, where the steps of a fountain become spontaneous meeting points, informal meeting areas bring the same dimension of pause and dialogue into the office.
Not the institutional table of a formal meeting, but more open and dynamic solutions, designed for quick exchanges, shared ideas and natural collaboration.

Like city streets host banks, finance companies and professional firms, places dedicated to concentration and decision-making, executive and presidential offices represent spaces designed for the most strategic and high-responsibility work.
Concentration is a precious moment, when the mind performs at its highest potential, and it requires a space that is appropriate, protected and well-organized.
Private offices offer tranquility and privacy, accommodating individual work and selected meetings in a refined and authoritative atmosphere.
Elegant and highly representative workstations, integrated with storage solutions, define environments that express leadership, combining image, function and prestige.
In the city square there are places dedicated to dialogue and important decisions: representative spaces where the community gathers to discuss, share visions and shape the future.
In the same way, in contemporary offices meeting and conference rooms become larger and more formal environments, designed to host strategic meetings, presentations and moments of discussion.
The City Hall interprets this role: an authoritative and elegant space designed to encourage dialogue and give value to decision-making moments.
