At Martex, sustainability is not an extraordinary action,
but a daily commitment reflected in every choice we make:
from the way we produce, to the products we create.

Every design decision stems from the desire to create long-lasting value,
combining beauty, quality and respect for the environment.
For us, sustainability means taking care of people and the places they live in:
it means well-being, social connection and responsibility.

We design to improve the lives of those who inhabit our spaces
and to leave a light footprint on the planet.
Every Martex product tells this vision: a design that respects life in all its forms.

Our corporate responsibility takes shape through a concrete and measurable approach involving processes, energy and the supply chain.
Today, over 90% of the energy we use comes from renewable sources, and we continuously optimise production to reduce CO₂ emissions, limit waste
and improve efficiency at every stage of our work.

We believe in a local, transparent and traceable supply chain, because sustainability is also a relational choice:
working with partners who share our values of environmental and social responsibility, building a positive impact that starts locally and grows over time.

Our journey is supported by recognised standards: ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certifications
demonstrate process control, attention to quality and continuous improvement with respect for people and the environment.
Because for us, true innovation is the one that takes care of the future.

Designing for the future

Every Martex product is designed to last over time.
We believe in a design that does not follow trends, but goes beyond them: essential, modular and conceived to evolve with people and spaces.

For us, sustainability primarily means durability: creating furnishings that remain functional and beautiful over the years, reducing the need for replacement and limiting waste.

True sustainability, however, begins with design. Each new collection is conceived to be easy to disassemble, reconfigure and regenerate, so it can adapt to changes in work environments without being replaced.
This is design intelligence: reusable components, replaceable elements
and flexible solutions that extend product life and increase its value over time.

It is a continuous balance between form and function, between material and well-being, where every choice becomes an act of responsibility.
Every Martex collection combines aesthetic research, technological innovation
and environmental awareness: because good design does not just furnish spaces, it improves life and respects the world we live in.

This vision also includes our approach to biophilic design, bringing nature into professional spaces to promote well-being, focus and harmony.
Natural light, authentic materials and colours inspired by the earth’s elements:
every choice is a way to reconnect people and environment.
Because good design not only furnishes, but enhances quality of life
and contributes to a more responsible future.

For Martex, sustainability is a concrete commitment that also translates into compliance with the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) established by the Italian National Action Plan for Green Public Procurement, as updated by Ministerial Decree of 23 June 2022 for office furniture intended for Public Administration.

Compliance with the required criteria is verified by an independent, accredited third-party body.

Applying CAM requirements is not merely a regulatory obligation, but a responsible choice towards both public and private clients: traceable materials, controlled production processes and attention to environmental and social aspects throughout the entire supply chain are an integral part of the way Martex designs and manufactures.

True sustainability, however, begins with design. Each collection is developed to be disassemblable, reconfigurable and regenerable, supporting the evolution of workspaces over time. Reusable components, replaceable elements and flexible solutions extend the product life cycle, reducing waste and increasing long-term value.

Below are links to Martex products that comply with the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM).

Material as a conscious choice

Every material selected by Martex tells a story of respect: for the environment, for people and for the quality of workspaces. Our research starts from materials and evolves into solutions that combine aesthetics, performance and sustainability awareness.

For this reason, we select recyclable components, low-impact finishes and materials designed to ensure well-being and safety in every environment.

We use low formaldehyde-emission panels: the wood-based panels employed comply with CARB P2 class and meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, in line with LEED certification requirements (IEQ credit 4.5). A concrete commitment to indoor health and air quality in professional spaces.

Responsibility also extends to the origin of raw materials: all our panels are FSC® certified, sourced from responsibly managed forests. The Forest Stewardship Council® is an independent international organisation that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management.

Alongside certifications, we pursue continuous research into innovative and eco-friendly materials capable of offering new design possibilities while reducing environmental impact. This is the direction behind finishes and solutions such as Bio Argilla and Linocor, expressions of an evolved approach to materials: natural, authentic and durable. Because for us, sustainability is not just a technical choice, but a way of designing that places the future at its core.
